My younger sister Lucy had been on at me for a little while to go to Cowslip because she just knew I would love it! So yesterday I did just that.

Cowslip is located on a farm on the outskirts of Launceston, my hometown. So for my mum's birthday I thought it would be nice to take her out for lunch because, well, let's face it, mum's and dad's seem to have pretty much everything they want! So I think sometimes a nice gesture is often appreciated more. So out for lunch it was!
To my surprise Cowslip was so busy! Who knew an old little farm down a bumpy lane could have been created into somewhere so thriving and pretty. To my surprise Cowslip is isn't only a cafe, but also a specialist patchwork shop. They run workshops and classes for individuals that are interested in getting creative. Classes and workshops include anything from dress making, cushion making, willow sculpting and of course patchwork designs. The shop includes an amazing abundance of beautiful material with intricate patterns. It really was making me think 'I need to start being more creative because I just love this material!' Along with material they had a variety of coloured threads, ribbons, gifts and many other crafty things!
So after what turned out to be a good hour or so of looking around and getting absorbed into the hustle and bustle of creativity, we decided it was about time for a spot go lunch.
The cafe has a home-made and rustic feel about it- just up my street. To my amazement we couldn't get a seat inside as it was so busy, so we sat outdoors which I was a little disappointed about as it was a little chilly. But I needn't have worried as there were homemade cushions and throws thrown over cute benches and comfy chairs. Fresh flowers were thrown into a pretty jug on the table and surrounding us was a stunning view looking into a vibrant garden full of home grown flowers.
The food was obviously all home made and they try and use the most local and organic produce when possible. They even have their own little vegetable patch. So, I opted for quiche with salad and my mum the soup-relish!

So, if your ever around Launceston then I would definitely recommend popping into Cowslip workshop! There is just cuteness around every corner, wherever you look!
