Summer Essential Lotions and Potions...

So.....what are my favourite essential lotions and potions for the summer?

When the weather is like the way it has been for this years August and your natural tan you spent so long getting is beginning to fade, it calls for some emergency beauty back-ups!

These are some of my favourite summer lotions and potions!
1). St Tropez Express Self Tan

I absolutely love this fake tan. Fake tan that doesn't look or smell fake....fab!! That is one pet-hate of mine and that is smelling like biscuits or Mcdonald's.....(that is how friends have previously described my old fake-tan smell....great friends hey!). What's also amazing about this product that makes it so convenient in my busy schedule, is that it's an express tan, meaning that you only have to leave the tan on for 1 hour to leave you with a light tan, 2 hours for a medium tan and 3 hours for a dark tan. So for those last minute nights out or if you decide to wear a skirt to work one day....it is possible to tan within an hour...hurray! So it's easy to use, streak-free, natural tan, smells good, quick to dry and leaves you with an express tan in 1 hour....perfect! Will definitely be needing this before this weekends antics to top-up my natural tan...sun can you come back now please?

2). Argan Oil of Morocco

I tan pretty easily which is actually amazing, however when you are prone to dry skin this can also be a disaster. If your anything like me, this can leave you with white patches after peeling, even when you haven't been sunburnt. Which, lets face it, doesn't look very pretty! General day-to-day moisturizers aren't quite enough for my dry skin and I fancied using something more oil based. I came across Argan Oil of Morocco in Waitrose which can be used both on your hair and your skin. Perfect! I use it in the shower just before I get out, which saves so much time when your in a rush for work in the morning. It also doesn't leave you with that heavy sticky feeling you get on your skin underneath clothes with many moisturizing lotions. I also sometimes apply it just before I go to bed which gives it time to deeply nourish and sink into your skin. I also leave it in the ends of my hair which are often left dry and wispy after all the heat damage from curling, straightening, hairdrying and of course from that hot summer sun. Like it says on the tin, a miracle all round product for moisturizing hair and skin for a silky perfection.

3). St Tropez Prep and Maintain Moisturiser

I bought this product at the same time as buying the St Tropez Express Tan. Not only is it amazing at keeping that express natural tan looking on point, but it is just an all round great moisturiser even when you don't have your St Tropez fake tan on. I also apply it to dry areas of my body before fake tanning such as my feet, knees, hands, elbows and ankles to stop excess tan building up in those areas. It really is a great all round summer product to keep you feeling nourished and moisturised. It helps you to keep that perfect looking tan for longer and avoids any dodgy break-up of fake tan and allows it to fade evenly. If your interested in buying this product and the St Tropez Express Tan, I picked them up from my local Superdrug.

4). NARS pure radiant tinted moisturiser

As I said previously I tan pretty easily so I think it's important to protect my face from sun damage. This NARS tinted moisturiser does just that as contains SPF 30 and has a broad protection of both UVB and UVA which is great! When I'm in out and about in the summer I still like to wear makeup on my face to cover blemishes and spots, but foundation often feels too heavy and thick on your skin leaving you feeling sweaty with half of your foundation melted off your face. Which, let's face it, isn't the best look. So, with this tinted moisturiser you can leave the house feeling happy with light coverage, as well as being protected from the sun. Research also states that it can help to reduce the appearance of dark spots and can also help to clear and brighten complexion.

5). Burts Bees Lip Moisturizing Lip Balm

This is my lip savour during the summer. I suffer with really dry lips in the summer and this is probably because I always seem to be wearing a different shade of matt Mac lipstick or I'm outside in the sun. Many people forget to apply SPF to their lips, and many lip products don't contain SPF which can lave lips dry and cracked. So to keep those lips looking nourished and plump, be sure to add one of these to your basket. I was kindly given mine by Holland and Barrett Kingsbridge, but I will most certainly be buying another when this runs out. It also tastes and smells amazing in Honey Miel flavour and contains 100% natural ingredients...can't say no really!

Hopefully my reviews of some of my favourite summer lotions and potions will help you when purchasing yours....as lets be honest, there is so many options out there and it can be very daunting...so good luck!
